About Cornell H. Menking
Cornell is a lifelong explorer and creative sort with a diverse background. His career an international educator has taken him to more than 60 countries, including extended periods living in Ecuador, Sierra Leone, and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) in Russia.
A Texas native, born and raised in Dallas and an alumnus of Highland Park High School and Southern Methodist University where he studied studio art and history, he later earned advanced degrees in New Mexico.
Art has always been a significant part of his life, providing solace and companionship. In recent years, he has embraced leatherwork, dedicating his evenings and weekends to crafting in his China Spring, Texas workshop. Outside of his creative pursuits, Cornell enjoys hunting and fishing. He currently resides in China Spring with his wife and two children.

When you're constantly making things, that creative energy just begs to be shared! That's the purpose of this site.
Now, about my paintings... I pour myself into them so deeply that I don't like to part with them. I would sell them, but let's just say my attachment to them might make the price a tad... ambitious! 😉
The leather work is a different story! I'm definitely hoping these handcrafted pieces find their way into the world and into the hands of people who appreciate the artistry and care that goes into each one. My Process
Alright, a little peek behind the curtain into my creative process! As I mentioned, my workshop is my happy place, my sanctuary of sawdust and leather scraps. It's where I escape whenever I'm not on kid-wrangling duty, whipping up meals for the family, or tackling my day job. Basically, if I have a spare moment, I'm in there making something. All. The. Time.
The best part? I'd absolutely love to make something just for you. Got an idea brewing? A specific design in mind? Let's chat about customizing a piece that's uniquely yours. Seriously, tell me what you're thinking, and I'll probably get right to work on it – I can't resist a good project!
And because I believe beautiful, handcrafted items shouldn't break the bank, I always aim to keep my prices affordable and in line with other talented crafters out there – maybe even a touch less. I want my creations to be enjoyed!
